A former police officer and detective, Freeman began his career as an Elvis tribute artist in 1998 and has performed in theaters all over the country.
“This is the greatest honor of my career,” he said.
Freeman will travel to Memphis, Tenn. in August to compete in the semifinal round of the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest during Elvis Week 2010.
Freeman often appears at the Barn Dinner Theatre.
His career also includes two plays about the life of Elvis, which Freeman wrote, produced and performed. His band has opened for Charlie Daniels.
Freeman has won additional awards, including the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest, presented by Elvis Presley Enterprises at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino.
He was named by Elvis Presley Enterprises as one of the top 20 Elvis tribute artists in the world for 2009.
