Wheatmore High School’s girls varsity team defeated Trinity in a tight game Feb. 8. The Lady Warriors led until the third quarter, when the Lady Bulldogs rallied to tie the score at 34 points. Trinity led by 3 in the fourth, but Wheatmore’s Taylor Walker consistently made free throws to gain the win, 56-51.
Walker racked up an impressive 27 points for Wheatmore. Peyton Boswell added 13 and Courtney Rains, 12. Logan Terry led Trinity’s scoring with 18 points. Amber Simrel added 12 and Christy Campbell, 11.
