Fish fry Jan. 23

Springfield Friends Meeting will hold a fish fry from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23.

The cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children ages 6-12.

Take-out meals will be available. To order tickets, contact the church office at 889-4911. The meeting is at 555

E. Springfield Road in High Point.

Deacon ordination Jan. 24

First Baptist Church of Trinity will hold a deacon ordination for Hertis Travis at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24.

The speaker will be the Rev. Michael Alston, pastor of Hardie Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Oxford.

The church is at 12504 Trinity Road in Trinity.

Chili supper Jan. 30

Trinity Memorial United Methodist Church will hold a chili supper beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30.

The menu also includes salad, cornbread, dessert and a drink. The cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 6 -12 and free for children ages 5 and under.

Baked goods will be for sale. All proceeds will benefit the youth retreat fund. The church is near the corner of N.C. 62 and Braxton Craven Road in Trinity.

‘Pizza Inn Night’ Feb. 4

Fairfield United Methodist Church’s preschool will host “Pizza Inn Night” from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, to raise funds to support the preschool.

Staff and volunteers will serve as the wait staff. Sports personality Rich Brenner will make a special appearance.

Pizza Inn is at 110 W. Fairfield Road in High Point.

Valentine’s dinner Feb. 13

Centre Friends Meeting will have a Valentine dinner on Saturday, Feb. 13. The menu includes an open salad bar, a chicken or steak dinner with a baked potato, homemade bread, dessert and drinks.

Reservations are required. Call 674-5081 to request a time and reserve tickets, which cost $12 per person. A hamburger plate for children will be available for $5.

The meeting is at 325 N.C. Hwy. 62 in Greensboro, approximately one-quarter mile east of Randleman Road.
