Candidates in Trinity’s election will face each other and citizens’ questions at a forum set for 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at Trinity City Hall.

The Archdale-Trinity Chamber of Commerce organizes local forums and has held similar forums for Archdale candidates. Archdale elections are held in even-numbered years.

“This forum offers citizens the opportunity to meet the candidates and ask them tough questions,” said Chamber President Beverly Nelson. “They deserve to hear from those who want their vote. The Chamber is committed to offering these forums to encourage our citizens to participate in our electoral process, a sacred right of all Americans.”

The forum will be moderated by a representative from the League of Women Voters of the Piedmont Triad.

“The League has been a great partner with the Chamber in the presentation of these forums over the years,” said Nelson. “They bring a professionalism and dignity to the proceedings.”

Candidates for the mayor’s race are incumbent Fran Andrews and challenger Carlton Boyles.

Debra L. Frazier and Kristen C. Varner are running for the Ward 1 seat held by former Councilwoman Barbara Ewings.

Incumbent Barry Lambeth is unopposed for his Ward 2 seat.

Candidates for Ward 3 are incumbent Karen Bridges, Mike Robertson and James Robin Russell Sr.

Running unopposed for Ward 4 is Thomas Hayes Johnson. He will fill the seat vacated by retiring Councilwoman Edith Reddick.

The Archdale-Trinity Chamber of Commerce seeks questions from the community.

Questions may be submitted in writing to the Chamber office by fax at
431-5845 or by e-mail at ellen@archdaletrinitychamber.com.

Questions also may be submitted prior to 7 p.m. the night of the forum.
