The Royal Princess Ball is the theme of the Miss Bush Hill Princess Pageant to be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, in the Trinity High School theatre. Admission is $5.

Katherine Southard, Miss North Carolina, will emcee the “ball,” said pageant coordinator Lorie McCroskey of Music with Miss Lorie.

The purpose of The Bush Hill Festival Princess Program, open to girls ages 4-15, is to promote the Bush Hill Heritage Festival and the Archdale-Trinity community at pageants and festivals around the state, said Beverly Nelson, president of the Archdale-Trinity Chamber of Commerce, which presents the annual Festival.

The Festival is held the second weekend in September. The Princess pageant emphasizes leadership, good will and community involvement. There’s a mission, too — to help develop self confidence, poise and natural beauty.

Winners are required to attend the 2010 Bush Hill Eve event, the 2010 Bush Hill Heritage Festival, the Archdale Christmas parade, the Trinity Fourth of July celebration and the 2010 Bush Hill Heritage Festival Princess Pageant. In addition to the pageant competition, a photogenic category will be judged. Photographs will be displayed during the pageant.
