Therese “Grandma” Armstrong

HIGH POINT — Therese Ives “Grandma” Armstrong, 93, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, May 4, 2024. She was the daughter of Layton and Mary Ives, born February 11, 1931. She grew up in Richmond, Virginia, where she met the love of her life, Linwood M. Armstrong. They moved to High Point in 1960 where they raised their five children.

Grandma was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for 64 years. She was a member of the Saint Edwards Guild and a Girl Scout Leader. Through the years she worked at Belk’s, Perkinson’s Jewelers and eventually retired from High Point Bank.
